NVMRR Open House:
December 7, 2024 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at “The gym” in Old Gregg School (OGS) Community and Recreation Center. The Nittany Valley Model Railroad Club will have an working “Open House” during this same time.
The NVMRR is a permanent growing fixture for the Spring Mills community. This is the thirteenth full year for this active Club at OGS.
We will again be running trains, giving away free train books, and trying to interest other adults in joining our Club. Come and visit us at our weekly ‘work and play’ sessions on Wednesday at 2:00pm. Our RR layout is under the stage at the OGS gym – look for our signs! We will ask you to give the NVMRR your email address so that you will receive future mailings.
To truly enjoy the RR excitement, come see the trains run. Please bring a camera, children and/or grandchildren to our “Open House”. Take photos of your children as they enjoy the train layout and animation. This year we have nearly completed the layout, but still are doing additional landscaping. By changing from Direct Control to Digital Command Control, we are able to have more trains running and much more railroad train sounds–such as bells, whistles, chugs, puffing, and horns. With a few new NVMRR members, we can operate more trains and ascertain we will avoid wrecks!!!!!
Note that the “The gym” has ADA access, but the NVMRR train site is NOT ADA compliant – it is necessary to walk down six-steps to enter the model train room. Visitors are NOT required to wear masks, but if you are sick, please skip the “Holiday Show” this year.
